Welcome to the Bradford K-8 Mental Health resource page.

Mental health encompasses social, emotional and behavioral health and the ability to cope with life's challenges. To the left, you will find a list of several mental health topics. Within each topic, you will find links to articles, lessons and/or videos. Moving forward, we will continue to expand this digital library of resources for our students, families and teachers.

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, one in five children and adolescents experience mental health needs during their school years. Mental health is key to children's success in school and life. Our mission is to use best practices to provide skill development, supports and resources to students who struggle to navigate overwhelming academic, social and/or emotional demands.

Our role is to work collaboratively with families, administrators, teachers and community partners on behalf of students to meet their needs in the school setting. Specifically, our services include:

* Individual student, small group, or whole class skill development

* Consultation with parents, teachers, administration, community partners

* Direct or consult services to students on Individualized Education Plans

* Determination for and Development of 504 plans

* Restorative Practices to help with peer conflict

* Suicide Risk Assessments

About Me

My family and I moved into KC Valley in 2020 just before our daughter was born. Now that my daughter has started preschool and my son is at Bradford, I have enjoyed getting back into the school to work with students again. Having worked as a counselor at all levels helps me understand the school system as a whole and prepare students for each step of their educational and social emotional journey. Outside of school, my family enjoys bike riding, hiking, and camping.
